Rodney Stout, Associate Pastor

Rodney joined the pastoral team in January 2006. Born and raised on a farm in Orkney by Christian parents, he made a personal commitment to follow Christ at the age of 11. Leaving school at 16, he worked in the building trade, and in a power station as a control room operator. He also trained as a fire fighter.

He studied for the ministry at Northumbria Bible College and Scottish Baptist College in Glasgow. He has been Student Pastor at Airdrie Baptist Church and Pastor of Dalkeith Baptist Church.

Rodney's main field of study has been centred on the life of Jesus in the gospels. He particularly seeks to understand what it means to "make disciples" who can then make disciples. As Associate Pastor, he is responsible for pastoral work within Charlotte Chapel.

Rodney is married to Janette, and they have two grown up children. James, an accountant with the Royal Bank of Scotland, is married to Cat who is a primary school teacher. Judith is a staff nurse who is currently training in Community Nursing.

Andy Prime, Assistant Pastor

Andy was born and raised in Edinburgh. He was brought up in a family where the Lord Jesus was held as precious and spoken of often. It was in his early teens that he grasped the truths of the gospel at a Christian football camp. He was convicted that he was a very great sinner, but convinced that Christ was a very great Saviour. That understanding became rooted and cherished through the witness of his auntie who remained confident in Christ throughout a battle with cancer.

Andy returns to Edinburgh having spent five years in London. He spent two years as a church apprentice, then three years completing the Theology and Pastoral Studies course at Oak Hill Theological College.

He enjoys playing almost any sport amid intermittent attempts to keep fit. Following three well-spent years at college, he will challenge anyone to a game of table tennis or pool.
