We were all made by a loving creator God. In the beginning he made all things, but the pinnacle of his creation was people. When he made us we were in a good relationship with him.
But then the first humans decided that they wanted to go their own way. They disobeyed God. God is completely fair and cannot ignore wrong so had to punish them for that choice. The people were separated from God and life became hard work.
All of us have made that same choice that the first humans made. We go our own way rather than God's way. We deserve his judgement and should be punished. The punishment for sin is death.
But because God loves us he chose to provide a way that we could return to a good relationship with him. He sent his Son, Jesus, to be born and grow into a man who was perfect in every way. Jesus chose to die in our place to take the punishment we deserve.
On the third day after he died Jesus rose again. He triumphed over death and returned in glory to his Father. If we ask for forgiveness and trust in Jesus' death to pay our price for our wrong choices we can return to that good relationship with God. We will live with him in glory forever when we die.
