Youth

We have groups for all ages.

We also have Scouting and Guiding groups.

These links have helpful resources for parents.

YPM - age 16+

YPM is a group of young people aged from 16-30 that meet for Bible study, prayer, fellowship and social activities. Email ypm@charlottechapel.org. Our Equip ministry links students and other young people for Bible study, prayer and food.

YPM send out most information about meetings by text, so if you want to be on the text list please email.

Meetings are:
  • 7.30 every Wednesday for Bible study, prayer and food.
  • After the evening service for prayer each week.
  • Every other Saturday evening for socials.

There is also an annual weekend away in September which is a real highlight.

WeePM - years S4-S6

We meet after the Sunday evening service in one of our homes. We start with food. We review the evening sermon and its application for us.  We pray together and then finish around 9.45pm.

Details are always in the Bulletin at church each Sunday. Contact Tim and Shelagh Prime or Phil Lawson. Our email is weepm@charlottechapel.org.

Saturday focus - years S1-S3

20 or more young people meet every other Saturday for social events. Previously we have been to Megabowl, Laserquest, LOGY gym and ice-skating. We have enjoyed progressive meals, games nights and video nights.

We usually have a weekend away in the summer.

Contact saturdayfocus@charlottechapel.org for more information.

Sunday focus - School years S1-S3

We meet during the morning service. Most weeks we meet in year groups. The leaders present the good news of Jesus. We look at the fundamental truths of Christianity and explore how God's word is living, active and relevant to our lives.

The leaders challenge us to make up our own minds about what we hear. They also encourage those of us who are Christians to keep living our faith.

About once a month we all meet together for worship, teaching, prayer and fellowship. We usually hear from a guest speaker.

Junior Church - ages 3-11

The children meet during the morning service for around one hour.  After a brief time of singing together, the children split into small classes.  The classes follow the Children Desiring God curriculum. This is a God-centred, Scripture based program that provides an overview of the entire Bible during the nine years.  Within the curriculum for different year groups, the children will learn specific topics all of which emphasise the good news of Jesus Christ.

Children receive a weekly resource page so they can discuss at home what they have learned in class.  The children also complete a workbook which will be their permanent reminder of what they have learned.

Contact juniorchurch@charlottechapel.org for more information.

Crèche - Age birth to 3

Crèches are available during the Sunday morning services for babies and toddlers. The welcomers at the door will be able to direct you. These run for the whole length of the service. They are run by volunteers from the church.

Judith's story

YPM has been a great blessing to me over the years. In earlier years, I benefited from the wisdom and encouragement of the older members. In more recent times, by God's grace I have been able to encourage those younger than myself in their faith.

YPM has provided opportunities to study the Bible in-depth, pray with other believers, serve together, have fun and fellowship and to share our joys and challenges. Through my involvement, God has also taught me about the necessity of relying on him for strength in ministry and of the vital importance of time spent with him to refresh and nourish us.

Dorothy's story

It has been a real blessing as the parent of 2 teenagers to see my children eagerly participating in our varied youth programme. It is lovely that my children can join with other children of like mind. Having made a decision to follow Jesus themselves, they have been nurtured and developed by the teaching they receive.

The leaders are marvellous and freely give their time, energy and abilities to these groups.

The young people enjoy being in each others company. I think this is so important these days when many of their school friends have different values and there are many pressures on them to conform to the society around them.
