Women

Charlotte Chapel women's ministry aims to challenge women to celebrate and live out their distinct identity as women designed by God, transformed by the power and message of Christ.

We have several different groups which will appeal to women at different ages and stages of life.

For more information on any of these groups email women@charlottechapel.org.

Special events

One-off events are arranged through the year. Details of the next event will be available here.

Time Out

This is an informal gathering of any women who wish to meet on a Tuesday morning in the church. We have time for coffee. Most weeks we move into a Bible study, where we have recently worked through the study guide Biblical Womanhood by Sarah Young.

A crèche is available, staffed by volunteers from the church. This is a great group if you find evenings more difficult but can get out during the day.

Over the summer we have a programme of social events to which all are welcome. For details see the weekly church Bulletin or the calendar.

Women at prayer

A ladies prayer meeting has been running in Charlotte Chapel since 1908. We meet every first and third Tuesday afternoon for an hour in the church lounge. We pray for our nation, our missionary family and our church. Contact info@charlottechapel.org. For dates see the calendar.

Women's morning fellowship

Around 80 ladies meet each Thursday in Charlotte Chapel from 10am for refreshments (said to be "the best in town") and plenty of chat. About half the ladies are from Charlotte Chapel; the rest are from around Edinburgh.

From 10:30-11:30am there is a time of worship and a speaker who gives a 20minute Bible-based talk. Ladies of all ages are welcome at this friendly meeting.

Contact info@charlottechapel.org or see the calendar.

Jo's story

I have enjoyed attending several of the events for women in the church. I find these really help me to think about what it means to be a Christian woman in today's society. We are all under so much pressure to conform to the world's patterns, so it is refreshing to reflect on God's original design for women.

The events are all very informal, and I have also got to know women of all ages and made some good friends through meeting in this way.
