We have groups specifically to challenge and encourage the men of Charlotte Chapel.
This is an informal gathering of dads, mainly of pre-school age children. We meet monthly except during the summer for fellowship and to study God's word together, usually with the help of a book which we read and then discuss. Recently we have studied Point Man by Steve Farrar.
We are currently studying Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp.
Our aim is to support each other to become more godly husbands and fathers.

This is made up of any men who are able to meet on Friday mornings. We meet every fortnight for talks from different speakers. For details of forthcoming speakers see the calendar. Once a month we share a soup and sandwich lunch after the talk.
We also arrange visits to places of interest. Recently we have visited the Falkirk Wheel, Edinburgh Central Mosque and the Fire Museum on Lauriston Place.

At the end of 2007, I became a dad for the first time. As most dads will tell you, nothing can really prepare you for the change that a child brings, but having the support of other dads who have been there before me has really helped. I have gained as we have shared openly of our struggles, given each other the benefit of our experience and helped each other to apply God's word to our situations.
Amongst other things, I have been challenged to play a more proactive role in leading my family. I have also formed deeper friendships with other dads, benefitting from their support and enjoying being able to give something back as I support them in turn.
