Friday 7:45pm Bible study
Friday is the International Fellowship (IF) Bible study evening. Join us every Friday night in Charlotte Chapel at 7:45pm to study the Bible. If you are interested in learning about the Christian faith informally with people from all over the world this is for you. Starts September 16th 2011.
We start immediately after the youth groups finish. Walk into the foyer and wait until the families leave. Then come into the lounge ahead of you and you will be made welcome.
It is very informal, beginning with singing and then splitting into small study groups. You can choose the group which best suits your knowledge and language ability. We finish with a time of prayer. We share refreshments at the end at about 10pm. Sometimes we go out as a group for a chat over hot chocolate. This is a great opportunity to make new friends from all over the world.
See the calendar for details of meetings. Contact if@charlottechapel.org for more information.

Testimonies
Alex (East Asia):
I was in Edinburgh between 1989-2000, studying medicine and working as a junior doctor. Shortly after I arrived in Edinburgh I went to Charlotte Chapel and joined the International Fellowship. Through Bible studies and various gatherings, I learned more about my faith and got closer to God. I have also enjoyed the fellowship with other international students and made a lot of friends, many of whom I am still keeping in touch with. A wonderful blessing.
Sunny (South Korea):
Charlotte Chapel International Fellowship (IF) has taught me what fellowship is about. Being an international student in an unfamiliar atmosphere wouldn’t have worked out well for me if God hadn’t led me to the fellowship. The IF helped me grow better in spirit; filling my life with loving kindness through many big and small events: a regular base Bible study, a prayer meeting, IF Weekend away, IF Day trips, IF International meals, a Progressive meal, Christmas evening, Music night etc. The IF was the place where I experienced deep care and love for each other. The IF encouraged and strengthened a good relationship between believers and non-believers as well.
Now being back in my country and dearly missing the IF, I can tell any international whether a student, worker or traveller, that you are most welcome to the IF at any time. You will know what fellowship means and how God works in your life through the IF.
Alex (Zimbabwe):
I thank God for people like you at Charlotte Chapel who provided a home for us far away from home. For me it was not only a spiritual home but a physical home as well.
I remember the occasion that was organised for us where each one from different countries was given the opportunity to present something for the group. I remember singing a chorus in my mother language (Shona from Zimbabwe).
The treatment I received as an international student at Charlotte Chapel made it appear as if boundaries were non existent. I was encouraged by the word of God that we are all one and operate as one body for the glorification of his word.
Allan (Hong Kong):
I came to Charlotte Chapel for the first time in 1991. I was then invited to Sheila Masterton's home for some tea by one of the International Fellowship (IF) members. I did not know her then but I can never forget the big smile she put on when she saw me. That night I heard her joke about drinking the other person's tea when she served the Lord in India for the first time.
I became a Christian in 1992 and was baptised at Charlotte Chapel in 1994, during this time I was greatly supported and encouraged by the IF brothers and sisters.
During my 4 years at Edinburgh, I studied Mechanical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University and attended our own fellowship at Riccarton campus. At the first weekend of each month, many of us would join up with the IF in town for some special activities, like international dinner, outings, Christmas parties, etc. and I enjoyed all of them hugely.
I have left Edinburgh for more than 13 years now. In 2006 I returned for a short visit and all the memories came flooding back. I still regard this special city as my second home and it is really because of the good fellowship I had at the IF.
The good work Sheila started is continued by many similarly faithful brothers and sisters, including making great teas. If you are new to Edinburgh, then do turn up for one of their many interesting meetings; enjoy some good fellowship and tea. Just make sure it is your tea and not the tea for the person sitting next to you.
