Fellowship groups

Fellowship groups meet fortnightly during school term time for Bible study, prayer and friendship.

Each has 6 to 20 members. We meet in homes around the city on Wednesday evenings. There is also an afternoon group which meets in the church mainly for those who find it harder to get out in the evenings.

Email info@charlottechapel.org for more information or if you would like to join a group.

Bible Study

We follow a series of studies, although you can join at any time. We may follow the sermon series. Some terms we study a topic such as prayer or sharing your faith. The main focus is on God's word in the Bible. We look at what it meant when it was written down and crucially what it means for us today.

The small group format allows for discussion and exploration of the passage. This complements Sunday sermons.

Prayer

Groups find their own prayer styles that suit them. The smaller numbers mean that we can enjoy praying more specifically. As groups get to know each other they share needs for prayer. People value the consistent support of others in this way. We also pray about what we have studied as we apply it to our lives.

Friendship

As groups explore the Bible and pray together, they get to know each other better. This is often helped by a cup of tea! Many people have found that their fellowship group is a great way to meet people within the church. Groups often organise social events as well as the regular studies.

Colin and Mary's story

We have attended a fellowship group for several years. It is a relaxing and friendly environment in which to study God's word, share and pray together. We appreciate the warm fellowship of others and benefit from the wide range of both age and experience in life and faith. It is an opportunity to develop deeper relationships than is possible on Sundays alone.

We have enjoyed the variety of subjects studied. Many have inspired lively and thought-provoking discussions.

The social evenings are always a good chance to relax and chat over food. We would encourage all who attend Charlotte Chapel to get involved in a fellowship group.
